We have been asked to identify a Project Manager (Infrastructure) for one of our clients in Plano, Texas. This project is about 12 months.

Position Description:
The selected candidate will independently perform project management responsibilities for information systems development projects at our client. The type of projects may vary in levels of complexity, risk, and visibility. The job duties include managing resources through all phases of the project life cycle, i.e., feasibility study, requirements, analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation planning. The projects may include Email, Collaboration, Voice, Mobility, and client related requirements. Additionally, the project may also include IT Infrastructure, Storage and Databases, Data Center, Mainframe and Security related requirements. The qualified Project Manager manages the relationship with all levels of customer and IT management. Frequent contact with all levels of customer and IT management is expected. The Project Manager ensures system quality and conformance to standards are being adhered to throughout the project.

Your primary role and responsibilities include:
• Develop and manage project schedule which includes estimating the project duration, effort, and critical path as well as tracking the scheduled activities and milestones through completion.
• Management and analysis of issues. Escalation of issues to higher management / stakeholders as needed.
• Build, manage and motivate the project team.
• Ensure the delivery of new products or services from the project, is to the appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the project plan.
• Be responsible for the quality assurance and overall integrity of the program.
• Manage third party, our client's IT, and business contributions to the program as appropriate.
• Communicate with all stakeholders.
• Manage both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects and / or various IT groups.
• Plan the project and monitor its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
 
Required Skills:
• Knowledge of SharePoint, MS Project 2007, MS Excel/PowerPoint/Word
• 5+ years of project management practical experience
• Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
• Competency in project management methodologies, processes, and tools.
• Familiarity with RUP and Agile application development methodology
• PMP Certification is beneficial but not required
• Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
What are the criteria to make you successful on this project?
• Manages the risks to the projects successful outcome
• Report progress of the project at regular intervals to the project stakeholders and our client's business managers as needed.
• Manage the projects budget, monitoring the expenditures and costs against delivered and realized benefits as the program progresses.
• Plan the project and monitor its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
