We have been asked to identify a Mixed Signal Design Engineer for one of our clients in Dallas, Texas.

Position Description:

The ideal candidate should have expertise in below defined areas to be able to execute well defined task independently. Additionally, he/she may be required to provide inputs based on prior experiences on analog/digital design methodologies, possible pitfalls etc. 

What are the first three things you want this engineer to do?

    1. Work on changing the existing output operational amplifier design to add more features and their verification.
    2. Work on changing the existing digital block in order to incorporate these features (RTL-Synthesis) and their verification.
    3. Help in designing/verifying sub blocks (LDOs, current sensing amplifiers etc) and top level for DCDC converter
 
Required Skills:
 

Skills or expertise required: 

Tool Expertise: Cadence, NCsim, Cadence RTL Compiler, Cadence Encounter Timing system, Cadence Encounter Test  

    1. Digital Design Expertise: RTL, Synthesis, STA, Place and Route, Digital Verification
    2. Analog Design Expertise: Operational Amplifiers, Switch mode DC-DC Converters, LDO, Bandgap, Analog verification (spice/spectre simulations)  
    3. Top Level Verification: Experience with chip level mixed mode simulations

 Prior experience required

    1. Experience with operational amplifier design and analysis
    2. Experience with switch mode DCDC converter (buck/boost/buck-boost) design and analysis
    3. Experience in RTL coding/synthesis for interfaces like SPI
    4. Experience in chip level mixed mode simulations

 Prior experience that would be helpful or nice to have

    1. Experience with high precision data converters specifically resistor string based DACs
    2. Top level layout floor planning with emphasis on high voltage design considerations
